"This large painting of a Persian Miniature style snow leopard features a body painted in minerals processed within my London-based studio. The leopard spots have a dynamism due to the reflective quality of hematite. The pink accents are carmine and the white is hand-processed zinc.

The painting is inspired by the many leopards found depicted in Persian manuscripts. The same character makes an appearance in my painting: 'Fatherland.' Here, the snow leopard takes centre stage in an exaggerated pose that emphasises his athleticism and playfulness. The pose highlights the spirit of the animal and is a nod to pictorial and stylisation links between East and West Asia."
