Following his recent notable sales in the USA and UK, British contemporary artist Tim Hayward will be presenting a solo exhibition of new works at Jonathan Cooper in December 2016. Tim Hayward: Glow will be a celebration of the exquisite beauty of birds in flight, and the sensory overload of pure colour.
Whether depicting the courtship rituals of Japanese Cranes or the determined dive of a Peregrine Falcon towards his prey, Hayward approaches his subject with an accuracy born of years of study, and a dramatic intensity that is cinematic in spirit. Painted in watercolour and gouache, each bird soars against a rich and vibrant background, blending the figurative and abstract in a series that is as close to Warhol as it is to Audubon.
